In July 2011, I started a new art + travel project called 12 Countries in 12 Months.
For one year, I will take a trip each month to a new city in Europe where I'll be making photos and sketches, collecting ephemera, and documenting my journey by creating mixed media artwork and illustrated journals.
I'll be sharing many highlights of my travels with you online!
Additionally, I will be interviewing visual artists in each city and to find out why the artists live where they do. I'll be asking the artists to tell me what makes their city unique, and we'll go behind the scenes to find out more about the process and concepts behind their artwork and designs.
I want this project to have a playful and collaborative aspect, and I look forward to meeting new artists all over Europe!
The cities I will be including on my tour are: Vienna, Amsterdam, Berlin, Venice, Prague, Lisbon, Barcelona, Budapest, London, Paris, Athens, and Stockholm.
